About me part 2

That day when we went to the place where the girl would teach me, we met the owner of the ranch. Her name was Beth.

For the lesson I had to wear a biking helmet. Not like it would do much. We started riding. I started my fiest lesson with a horse named Whinny. I remeber her, because when I rode I had pink and purple reins. They matched my helmet.

I started off in the round pen. I belive my lesson was one hour. It was fun while it lasted, but then we had to get home.

On the second lesson. The last lesson with Whitney, she told us how we couldn't continue while she was in Mexico. We talked to Beth and she would have me continue lessons. For $25 I would continue my dream.

When I started riding with Beth she had me ride this one horse. A very special horse of Beth. Her name was Sass.

Sass was the most gentle, sweet caring horse. She would pick up her feet for me when I would pick her hooves. She was Beth's baby. Sass was about 16 when I started riding her. When I was 6 1/2.

I would ride every Sunday at about 5pm. Some days when we got to know Beth more we'd stay out till 9pm talking and having a great time.

One day my mom asked if Beth would ever sell Sass. She saind NEVER but if she did, Sass would cost alot!

The first 2 years of riding were interesting. I had gotten bucked off. I felt like I was flying. Of course I didn't fall off Sass. She never bucked me off.

I had proven people wrong. They said I'd never be able to Lope/Canter for at least 2years. I cantered after a few months.

One sunny day my mom and Beth were sitting by the arena and I was riding Sass. She suggested 4-H. Where I could learn about horses and show them with people my own age. I was about 9 when I joined Dry Creek 4-H.

My first show with Sass was a show at Westforlk Satbles. I felt pretty good when I got 2nd place in pleasure. There was over 10 people in that class. Walk trot. Sass has always had amzing pleasure and collection.

After 2 years of showing Sass in 4-H and getting some high placings, but never a first. It was time for our Dry Creek Show. I had one of my trainer's horses for Western Flat and Sass for Gymkanna.

I had gotten my first 1st with the horse in Showmanship. When I saddled him up for Equatation he started limping.

We thought we would have to scratch. Someone said what are you doing? Grab Sass!

We saddled Sass and finished out Western Pleasure, Horsemanship and Trail. I had got some 1sts and 2nds.

When it was time for Gymkanna, Sass was the fasted trotter. I got lots of 1sts and 2nds in Gymkanna.

I had one my first hi point. It was a belt buckle.

When the show was over we brought Sass home back to Beth's. I showed her all my ribbons and my buckle.

She pulled my mom aside and started crying. I didn't understand what was going on. I was bathing Sass trying to hear.

After my mom and I got in the car she says...

Beth thinks she'll sell us Sass.........
